Shadow Lover
Oh Sweet darkness, how I know you well.
With your embrace of razors and blanket of thorns.
Here you come once again to rip at my spirit
and taunt me with false hope of two who could keep you away.
One who desires to hold me from your pain,
but the miles apart puts me out of reach.
Another, a meer few feet away,
but bears me no interest and turns to other things.
Your torment of me tears at my heart, as your blackness smothers my soul.
So here I am Shadow Lover,
once more alone to your will.
Take me as you have before.
But fault me not please if this time,
as you wrap your icy claws around my throat,
if you would bear me some mercy and end the agony.
Let the blades of your talons pierce my flesh.
Slice you well and slice me deep,
so that the crimson blood, as it flows from my veins,
takes with it forever the heartache and pain,
that no amount of tears have been able to wash away.
